Jeff Wayne's War of the World (Musical) Martian Tripod

Not sure if any of you still remember this musical. I had the double cassette tape collection a long time ago (before upgrading to CD) and I remembered listening to it over and over again when I was working on my kits. Well, there were some pretty catchy tunes which I kind of liked, and the narration literally left me going wild with my imagination. Of course that was like during the 80s. Let's fast forward to the present. Just found out that there was a Live on Stage musical rendition of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds in 2014 and .... guess who the narrator was this time ...

Yup, non other than Liam Neesan. Well, he does have a very nice and coarse voice, one that reminds you to never to take anything from him without permission ... otherwise he will find you. Don't worry, he doesn't sing for this musical but he did make a few appearance via a large screen TV. Just search for Jeff Wayne's War of the World Live at Youtube and you can see the stage musical performance for yourself.

Anyway, back to the topic, There is now a kit on a very very limited run of your lovable trigger happy heat ray gun Martian Tripod based on the original musical cover. It stands 19" tall and have been in development since 2006. This kit is hailed to be very accurate and true to the Tripod's representation from the popular album cover. It consist of hollow cast body, resin cast eyes, heat ray, sensors/antenna and feet. The top section of each leg is cast in resin with embedded metal support rod as are the support struts. The legs themselves are constructed of aluminum tubing with pewter cast detail pieces.

This kit is not cheap though as it retails for GBP £170, and comes with a box and artwork. Definitely for serious fans of the musical. If you are interested, you will need to give Neo-uk a private message over at Starship Modeler's forum.
