Since Round2 MPC has reissued the iconic 1/72 scale eagle transporter kit and the deluxe kit (Laboratory Eagle), I'm sure some of you would be needing some close up reference images to help with your build up. Despite the fact that we are grateful to Round2 for the reissue, the kit does have a lot of shortcomings. The cage areas are opaque and does not allow you to see through the internal passageway to the pod module, the engines are too simplified and the landing gears look like toys.
I have highlighted some after market parts available in my earlier post, so these following images as well as teh subsequent posts should help.
The following posts will highlight the actual studio model used for the TV series for your reference. While I'm not sure if all of you are able to reproduce your kit exactly (I hope you can), I do hope these reference would at least provide some kind of guide for your effort.
According to Small Art Works Exclusive coverage of the 44 inch Eagle Transporter, this was the largest of the initial set of four scale models build for a reported £3000, constructed from brass, wood, perspex, and aluminium. The heavy duty model, weighing in at nearly 35 pounds, was the principal effects model during the first series of 24 episodes and was the first of a total of three 44" models built. She still looked quite reasonably maintained despite years of neglect but a full restoration work brought her glorious shine back. You can read all about it HERE.
